The TaylorMade Burner Superfast Driver is an interesting club that TaylorMade opted to make. The idea was to make a driver that was long at the expense of accurate. The most notable change is that they made the shaft one inch longer than standard. A longer shaft will indeed make the ball go further because of the added club head speed, but it is also difficult for most people to control and thus dispersion increases. When asked about this, TaylorMade responded saying that golfers of the day would rather hit out of the rough further down the fairway. So if you are willing to trade accuracy for distance, this is the club for you. But the long shaft isn't the only innovation on this club, it also 'features "Ultra-Thin Wall" (UTW) technology. It involves constructing the clubhead with extremely thin walls, allowing for a significant reduction in weight without sacrificing strength. The UTW technology enables more mass to be strategically redistributed lower and deeper in the clubhead, lowering the center of gravity. This promotes higher launch angles and greater carry distance. The reduced weight also allows golfers to generate faster swing speeds, enhancing ball speed and distance. Additionally, the design helps to increase the moment of inertia (MOI), providing greater forgiveness on off-center hits and ensuring more consistent performance across the face of the club.
