The Ping Eye 2 + Iron is the follow-up to the extremely popular albeit controversial Eye 2 iron. What made the Eye 2 illegal by USGA standards was remedied and implemented in the Eye 2 + irons. Essentially the distance between the grooves had to be altered so that they fell within the acceptable limits set by the USGA. Regardless of the distance between grooves, the Eye 2 + irons still have an incredible amount of technology in them propelling them near the top of every list of the greatest irons ever made. The perimeter weighting was a big breakthrough on these irons. This design places additional weight around the edges of the clubhead, rather than concentrating it at the center. The Perimeter Weighting increases the moment of inertia (MOI), which enhances the club's stability and forgiveness on off-center hits. This technology helps to reduce the twisting of the clubface at impact, resulting in more consistent ball flight and better control. The design also aids in lowering the center of gravity, which promotes a higher launch angle and improved trajectory control. The Ping Eye 2 + Single Iron's perimeter weighting is intended to provide golfers with a more forgiving and reliable performance.
