Bags
When you are looking at bags it's good to have an idea of how you'll be using the bag. Of course you are going to be putting your clubs, balls, tees, and other accessories into the pockets, but golf bags today are tailored to meet specific needs. Answer these questions to get you going in the right direction:
Do you primarily play golf with a cart? A cart bag is your best option, it will typically have a wider top opening for clubs to fit more comfortably, there will be more pockets for things. Also it tends to be on the heavier side because weight isn't as much of a concern if the cart is carrying the load.
Do you primarily play golf walking? Look for a carry bag. The are made to be lightweight so you don't get so tired if you carry your own bag. They will typically have legs that pop out when you set it down so that you don't have to bend over to pick it up.
Do you play par three courses exclusively? Popularized by the company Sunday Golf, a Sunday Bag is much smaller than a regular bag, it generally only fits a couple clubs so it's ideal for rounds on the par three course.
Do you want to be able to store and display lots of clubs? A display or staff bag is much larger that a cart or carry bag. A display bag isn't very functional on a golf course but it looks great in a basement and can hold about 50+ clubs. A staff bag can certainly be used on a course, but it's probably not advised if you're carrying your own bag.
