Callaway X-12 Single Irons

These clubs were originally manufactured in 1998 so the price tag is a fraction of what is found on newer clubs. But the question is how much technology in newer clubs are you willing to trade for getting something that was made so long ago? The Callaway X-12 Iron features a technological advancement known as the "S2H2" design, which stands for "Short, Straight, Hollow Hosel." This design innovation reduces the weight in the hosel (the part of the club where the shaft is attached to the clubhead) and redistributes it to the perimeter of the clubhead. This redistribution of weight increases the club's Moment of Inertia (MOI), enhancing stability and forgiveness on off-center hits. The S2H2 design allows for a larger effective hitting area, improving performance consistency for golfers. Obviously the newer clubs have had many innovations that make them easier to use and allow you to score better on the course, but if you are new to the game or just looking for a serviceable iron that you can get for a steal, a used Callaway X-12 iron is definitely a way to go.
