Used Golf Clubs in Los Angeles: Best Places to Find Them

We’re here to help you find the equipment you need for your next time on the tee in the City of Angels!

When it’s warm and sunny, “golf balls actually have a tendency to fly a little bit farther,” which makes it the optimal weather for a great game and there’s nowhere you can find more consistent rounds in sunny weather than Los Angeles, California. And since LA has got those gorgeous conditions almost year-round, you know that their golf courses are well maintained because of how much foot-traffic they receive over the year.

Now it’s best to be aware, LA is a hugely popular area for golfers, and it can be hard to get tee-time which means you gotta look ahead. Some of the community recommend the Rustic Canyon Golf Course which is a little ways outside of Los Angeles proper, and for those looking for a closer walk, the Wilson & Harding Golf Courses are a good choice.

Since you’re playing more frequently you might be in the market for getting a better set of golf clubs to keep up with your game. And as a golfer you know that a used golf club is/can be as good as a new one, it’s just finding the right ones that can be tricky.

Well, look no further, because today we’re taking a look at where you can find the best used golf clubs in Los Angeles. Finding a trustworthy shop to take your business is key and the first place you should look is Stick Hawk.

Stick Hawk

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Richard W. of Roger Dunn Golf Shop LA:

“Love this place. Everyone is helpful and friendly to assist. And there are swing practice facilities to let you try before you buy.

Huge selections of everything. This is like CostCo of golf here in the neighborhood. New, used clubs, tools to help you improve your game, free consultation for clubs and swings. Most of all, everyone is just like old friends that you can joke around and have fun while shopping or simply browsing.

I walk by this place everyday and I always love to stop by just to see the new things and have touch of it.

Easy parking and wheel chair accessible, what a thoughtful design.”

Yelp Review from Kayla W. of Roger Dunn Golf Shop LA:

“Very boys club. Walked in and wasn't even acknowledged, greeted, helped. The men just huddled in the corner watching without any acknowledgement or offering to help. Also the women's selection was pretty much nonexistent. Don't even try wasting your time here”

Originally located in the Rolling Hills Plaza in Torrance is none other than the family owned and operated Plaza Golf. They have been in business since the 80’s and have carved quite the path for themselves as time has gone on. Now they’ve expanded, moving to an even bigger location on Crenshaw Boulevard. With their bigger building they can now house even more equipment for new and old golfers alike. If you’re looking for something specific there’s a really good chance they have it or something similar here. Plaza Golf also offers repair services, fittings, and frequent sales for those looking to budget their money wisely.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Sophie G. of Plaza Golf:

“I had an outstanding experience at Plaza Golf for club fittings. Tyler and Daryl helped me upgrade to a more intermediate set of irons, which has significantly improved my distance and consistency in the short game. They provided thorough explanations of how different shaft lengths, weights, grip sizes, and club head styles can impact performance, which was incredibly helpful. The selection of both new and used clubs is impressive. I highly recommend this local business for their exceptional service and genuine care for customers. They truly have your best interest in mind!”

Yelp Review from Karen M. of Plaza Golf:

“I always believed in supporting small local businesses, and I always went to Plaza Golf. Not anymore.

The customer service is terrible. Walk in. No one will even look at you. I found that the big guy down the street, PGA Superstore, was much friendlier, had better inventory, and better prices. So much for the family owned business. That family doesn't care.”

The Golf Exchange, Inc.

A business in Old Torrance that’s been around since the 1940’s! You can buy or trade-in your old clubs!

The original Golf Exchange Inc. was built all the way back in 1941, but then in 2010 they moved to the Old Torrance area right across the street from the Chen Art Gallery and have continued to make a small but significant name for themselves. What makes them unique is you can trade in your older clubs and the estimate you get back can be used towards your purchase of new-used clubs. They also, according to their website, have a one person driving range and putting green where you can test out the product before you buy so you know exactly how it feels. They have a pretty decent inventory of used clubs for you to pursue through along with balls, shoes, bags, and accessories.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yelp Review from Hector A. of The Golf Exchange, Inc.:

“There is no better golf store serving the Southbay than Golf Exchange. They've been in business for well over 40 years that I know of and their high standards have not changed since relocating from downtown Los Angeles. Their staff is knowledgeable, professional, courteous, and well versed in their product line. The equipment they sell is always high quality items.

There are big box stores all around town but they never seem to match the quality and uniqueness of Golf Exchange products. It is certainly a golfing jewel in the Southbay!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yelp Review from Kenneth M. of The Golf Exchange, Inc.:nn Golf Shop LA:

“I love checking out stuff at this place, bought things every so often and had my grips done here often. The staff is friendly enough and they have golf outfits they sell on the second floor for really decent price if you are lucky enough to find your size…”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Alyssa G. of Eaton’s Golf Shop:

“I came in here a few months ago looking for a set of beginner golf clubs for ladies. The store owner was super helpful and knowledgeable and had several options of full-sets for me to choose from. I would highly recommend supporting this business as they sell almost everything you need/could get from a big box retail store (ex. Roger Dunn) but at a fraction of the cost! SHOP LOCAL!!!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Google Review from Seato S. of Eaton’s Golf Shop:

“I recently had a fantastic experience at this local golf mom-and-pop store. The owner was incredibly friendly, offering personalized assistance that ensured I had all the necessary equipment for success on the golf course. Not only did they provide excellent service, but their prices were also affordable, making it a standout destination for any golf enthusiast. Highly recommended!”

Although there aren’t too many brick and mortar gold shops selling used clubs in the Los Angeles area, there are still a few great ones to choose from. These along with StickHawk are great options for your equipment n
