Posted by Shayla Burke on Aug 01, 2025

We’re here to help you find the equipment you need for your next time on the tee in America’s Finest City!

San Diego, California is best known for being a vacationer's dream as the weather year-round stays consistent, there’s over thirty-one beaches in the city, plenty of attractions to visit, and of course: their fair share of golf courses. In fact there are seventy-two golf courses in San Diego that offer a wide variety you won’t find in any other city. Golf Digest actually named San Diego as “one of the Top 50 golf destinations in the world.”

You’ll have a lot of people online and in-person telling you where to golf, a name that is brought up a lot in the community is Torrey Pines Golf Course which is the most recommended course by a landslide. Aviara Golf Club has recently been renovated within the past couple of years so it’s got that “shiny-new” feel to it. And Bonita Golf Course is closer to the city and has some pretty reasonable rates compared to other places which might be worth checking out.

But we can’t get you out to play on any of these courses if you don’t have the right equipment and you’ve come here to find the best places for used golf clubs in San Diego, so let’s get to it!

StickHawk

Find the exact brand and type of used golf club you need and get it quickly shipped to your home in San Diego for free.

StickHawk name & logo

Our story is a simple one, what started out as a side-venture in the highs and lows of selling shoes on eBay, has now turned around to be a business with 20 full-time employees, a 15,000 square foot warehouse, and relationships with private golf courses all over the U.S. At StickHawk you can make your putting dreams come true as we sell quality drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, iron sets, single irons, wedges, putters, complete club sets for those who need the basics to play today, and accessories. We want to match you with the gold club(s) of your dreams. You can take our “Club Decider Quiz,” which is clickable on the bottom right hand side of our website, and it will help you decide the exact right make and models you need to feel good while you’re on the course.

Every golfer knows how important the putter is for the game, it’s arguably the most used club which means finding the right one is essential. Through StickHawk you’ll be able to refine your search by Brand, Model, Condition, Dexterity, Head Shape, Club Length, Grip Size, and Headcover(s). This makes finding your next perfect putter easier than ever.

Our pride and joy is finding, acquiring, and selling used golf clubs to all aspiring golfers and we want to make it possible that you can get yours in a timely manner; that’s why we ship to all areas of the country including San Diego. Purchase And Resell (PAR Golf)

A whole golf shop specializing in used golf clubs and other equipment located in Vista near Buena Vista Park!

PAR aka Purchase And Resale Golf was initially founded in “humble beginnings” not unlike StickHawk back in 2018 when David Bronsteen started his business out of his bedroom closet. Eventually the inventory of used clubs grew and David had to expand bigger and bigger until eventually he got to make his shop in Vista, California in a little plaza in between Buena Vista Park and Buena Vista Ball Park. What makes PAR stand out from the crowd is their outstanding reviews which brings them to an average 5/5 stars on Google which is no small feat in this day and age.

At PAR Golf you are able to either trade-in your old golf equipment, sell it, or come in green looking to pick up some gear for yourself. And although they do specialize in used golf clubs they do have their fair share of new “out of the box” clubs along with other golfing products like balls, headcovers, divot tools, rangefinders, bags, and more. The team behind the counter is more than willing to help you with any questions you might have and they are always looking to give back as they make it their mission to donate to a number of non-profit organizations yearly. PAR Golf is open Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Google Review from Anthony R. of Purchase And Resell (PAR Golf):

“These guys are phenomenal. They have such a cool collection of clubs for sale that reach back decades, and they have such a wide selection of shafts that a gearhead like me has to be dragged away with a hook before I empty my wallet here. That and all the guys that work there are so nice, they love the game of golf and fully understand their product. I’ve listened to them helping first timers and it’s clear that they care about helping them get the right product instead of just trying to sell the most expensive thing they have.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Aaron M. of Purchase And Resell (PAR Golf):

“This place is great!! Good quality used clubs. Staff is super friendly! They have a great website, as well as an awesome brick and mortar shop! I have been shopping here for a little over a year and haven't had a bad experience. Website is clean and well organized. Shop has clubs floor to ceiling and the staff is eager to help you find what you need. Staff is responsive to emails and answer any questions you have! Check them out! They'll get ya setup!”

In 1991 Fairway Golf opened to the public initially as one “mom and pop shop” but now after their success they have two storefronts in the San Diego area. The one we’re talking about today however is their San Diego Airport location which is their newest. If you can think of something a golf shop could do, there’s a good chance Fairway Golf does it.

They create custom clubs, shafts, apparel, sunglasses, accessories, and personalized golf balls; as well as selling new and used golfing equipment from your favorite brands including Japanese Clubs which can be hard to find. Unlike big box stores their pre-owned selection is actually quite decent, you’ll find a handful of Drivers, Fairway Woods, Hybrids, Iron Sets, Individual Irons, Wedges, Putters, Shafts, accessories, and more. They do offer their stuff online but from what we’ve read you might have better luck to purchase in-person. Fairway Golf is open Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Google Review from Brian B. of Fairway Golf (San Diego Airport Location):

“Everyone on the team is amazing. Taylor and Jun are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I learned more from Hide about my golf swing in 5 minutes than I have in years of expensive lessons from some of Golfs top instructors. The selection is impressive and if you love Japanese golf equipment this place is second to none.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Google Review from Michael De La P. of Fairway Golf (San Diego Airport Location):

“Stopped in here to shop around and see if they had any decent deals on used driver, found a really good selection that was very well priced and they helped me get set up with some new fairway woods also. I will definitely return to the store and it’s sister location.”

The Golf Mart

A small chain from Worldwide Golf with locations all over the city- this one is in between Mission Valley and Mission Valley East next to the Hilton!

⭐Yelp Rating: 4.0 stars out of 5 via 154 reviews

In California, New Mexico, and Nevada there are Golf Mart stores from Worldwide Golf,  which is one of the biggest businesses in golf retail as they have their own franchise(s) in different parts of the country. If you’re familiar with the San Diego area then there’s a good chance you’ve passed by a few Golf Marts. There are actually a few relatively close together but right now we’re talking about their location near the Mesa Rim Climbing Center off Camino del Rio S.

Here you will be able to experience their Full Service Club Repair, Indoor Putting Green, Launch Monitor Club Fitting Technology, Golf Club Rentals by Prosets, and on the floor sales of both new and used golf equipment. The Golf Mart is open Monday through Saturday 9:00am to 7:00pm and 10:00am to 6:00pm on Sunday.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Justin P. of Golf Swing Solutions:

“Awesome store great selection. Lessons with Hector are amazing he is very knowledgeable and gives small corrections that give massive improvement, and explains why some things are happening with ball flight, spin rate, ball speed. I would 100% recommend giving them your business.”

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Valerie V. of The Golf Mart:

“Golf Mart is one of the top places to shop in San Diego! They offer a great selection of both new and used golf gear. If you don’t find what you’re looking for in the store, they can special order it for you or check other locations and have it sent there. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. Russel and Mark were especially helpful and kind when I was buying clubs, and I felt no sales pressure at all. You can also use their bays to test out any club before you buy. Plus, they offer a generous 90-day guarantee for replacement, exchange, or store credit. Being part of the Worldwide Golf network means they have even more locations and options. I’ve been here several times, and they always go above and beyond!”

Google Review from Adam L. of The Golf Mart:

“Went to swap my existing shaft in my 4 & 5 iron for another pair of shafts I owned. The club builder rung me up for $120 ($60 per club) which is unreasonable expensive. I found another local golf shop to do the same task for $30 total. This is a great place to demo clubs but look elsewhere to get custom builds or adjustments made to your current set”

Play It Again Sports (Pacific Beach)

A known resale shop of sporting goods that sells used golf clubs in San Diego near Pacific Beach!

Thifters unite! We’re taking a look at Play It Again Sports which is a part of a franchise of other resale shops you might know and have been to: Plato’s Closet, Once Upon a Child, Style Encore, and Music Go Around. Second-hand stores like these will help you find the items you need at prices way more budget-friendly than typical retailers and Play It Again Sports is all about, you guessed it, sports.

Come in and take a look through their golf section for used clubs, bags, balls, and more; and if you’re someone who considers themselves a well-rounded player, you can take a look at their other sporting equipment as well. And if you’re looking to sell you can bring your old equipment in and get money back to go towards future purchases of clubs. This Play It Again Sports location is just off Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach and is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00am to 7:00pm, Wednesday’s 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday’s 11:00am to 5:00pm.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yelp Review from Stef I. of Play It Again Sports (Pacific Beach):

“HUGE variety of sporting equipment, everything from soccer shorts to sleds to surfboards. Prices may be a little high for used but you can see it's great condition and better than buying from Am*zon. The staff is what makes this place really special though, as they were quick to review my potential sell backs and patiently broke down each item and it's worth. There was zero pressure to sell or buy, and they thanked me for supporting a local business. 6 stars for customer service!”

⭐⭐⭐⭐Google Review from M of Play It Again Sports (Pacific Beach):

“Surprisingly many new things here and decent inventory in general. But giving 4 stars because every time I’ve ever sold something to these places I always feel like they’re lowballing”

Google Review from JON of Play It Again Sports (Pacific Beach):

“Wasted my time the staff wouldn't even look at my golf gear. I wanted to sell”

There are a few pretty good places to find used golf clubs in San Diego, both big-box and brick and mortar options are nice to have especially if you’re looking for something specific. Speaking of specifics, StickHawk will offer up a lot of specific kinds of used clubs that might be what you’re looking for if you can’t find it around the city.
