Let's face it, if you're looking for a single iron it's probably because you lost or broke your old one. No shame in that, it happens to almost every golfer eventually. Some more than others, I'm looking at you, Rick. Getting the right replacement and having it seamlessly fill the void that was left by your previous club can be tricky. So your're going to want to the new club to match on as many features as you can. If you can't find an exact match it will still work, but pay particular attention to the shaft flex and length of the club. Those two specifications carry a lot of weight if you want the replacement to perform like your last club.
