Drivers, the…driving force behind golf (?), is what us golfers use to make our balls fly the furthest. In our minds when we hit with the driver we want that ball to land as close to the hole as possible. No other club can do what a driver does, it’s the “it” girl of all the clubs. It’s the longest club and has the biggest head which means when you need to make the ball fly far, you grab her out of the bag. Drivers are also great when you get yourself into sticky situations, or should we say, sandy situations. They are used when you’re stuck in or behind a big dune, as well as being behind a big water feature. 

There are of course a lot of lists out there from bloggers, professionals, and fitters on what the best driver is and we do have to say that a lot of those lists are subjective. Golfers are particular about what they like, some swear by certain brands over the other and others don’t particularly care about which brand they hit with, as long as it feels right in their hands, they are ready to head out onto the course. 

We believe in used clubs, used clubs can be (and usually are) just as good as “straight out of the box” clubs and we decided to take a different spin on the “best driver debate” by taking a look at the best used golf club drivers. This club is the club we come back to consistently, we want this club in our bag at all times because it checks every box on our criteria list. It’s super user-friendly and very forgiving which means you can use this bad boy and get closer to the fairways than you ever thought possible. It’s a great well-rounded club, the look and feel of this thing alone is more than worth it.

There’s nothing wrong with trying to find a driver that offers your mid-to-high handicap a helping hand. We all have been there and we like to look fondly at the drivers that we’ve used to help us build towards better pars and one said driver we fall back on as being our safety cushion is more than a few years old now but still is more than reliable when you need some support and that’s the TaylorMade M2. Fairly inexpensive and best for those golfers who are looking to gain distance and accuracy all while battling it out with their own skillset.

You know those brand-loyalists out there? The ones that unknowingly pick up a club from a specific brand, hit with it, and never go back to another? Well you’ll find that a lot of Cobra fans feel that way about their clubs. Arguably the best sounding clubs, Cobra drivers are like a buffet, they have a little bit of everything; but the AeroJet is specifically all about speed. Like the name says, you’ll see your ball fly like a jet and wonder how it got back on the greens so fast. Stability is also key here, even if you hit a little off-face you’re still going to get speeds you wouldn’t from other drivers.

We’ve found clubs for our higher-handicaps and with the Cobra and now the Titleist GT3 Driver we are finding clubs for those who are better-than average, ones that don’t necessarily need forgiveness but rather the club that feels like it was made for their hands. The Titleist’s main component we love is how adjustable it is, it gives players looking to edge out their skills onto the greens something compatible to work with. Its procession matches the speed(s) it gets which makes it great for those who know what they’re doing.

?️TaylorMade SIM 2 Max Driver:

And finally we are wrapping up with, possibly, the most agreed upon “best used driver” out there and that is the TaylorMade SIM 2 Max Driver. We think this club is one of the best on the market for its speed, precision, and course-correcting accuracy. Even if you hit off-face with this, the control this club leaves any slicers with a finishing par that’s better than their average. This club is great for average players, ones that have a good amount of time on the greens and have a bit of skill to back up their name but nothing top “pro” level. This club, like the Titleist, offers great adjustments which means that it can work with virtually any player (and isn’t a club that can mold to fit the player a club worth purchasing?)

From seller JapaneseCloset is the TaylorMade SIM2 MAX Driver 9.0 degree Head Only RH w/headover USED for $215.22. There are some scuff marks and scratches on the surfaces but it is still in the “good” condition. It does come with a headcover as well which is a nice bonus.
