Play It Again Sports is a part of the resale franchise that has other such icons like Plato’s Closet, Once Upon a Child, Style Encore, and Music Go Around. Some cities have one or two within an hour of each other, while others have more than a few all within a quick drive; Indianapolis is the latter. There are four Play It Again Sports locations all within the greater Indianapolis area and we’re going to highlight the ones closest to the city’s center. 

First up we have their official Indy location that’s in Meridian Marketplace right down the street from German Park. They have a readily available stock of what you’re looking for: golf clubs, but also golf bags, balls, gloves, and other such apparel. And if you’re in the market to broaden your horizons then you can take a look at their other sporting equipment while you’re in-house. The Indy Play It Again Sports location is open Monday through Thursday 10:00am to 8:00pm, Friday 10:00am to 4:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 12:00pm to 5:00pm.

What you may not know about Play It Again Sports is that they are all individually owned and operated so if you have a “so-so” experience in one store, you might have a better one at another. This one seems to have better reviews, in fact they are a “Gold Standard Store” which is an award given to certain locations for “going above and beyond the normal standard,” but you’ll have to go in and see for yourself what makes it better. 

They are often looking for golf equipment to highlight in their store so you bet you can go in to see what new finds they’ve got in stock the next time you’re nearby. The Warren Township location is open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 12:00pm to 5:00pm.

We’ve been writing about these spots for used golf clubs for a hot minute now and we have yet to come across a golf shop that’s actually inside a golf course, but that’s about to change with Fairway Custom Golf which is in Gray Eagle Golf Course near Brooks School Elementary and Mud Creek.

How great is it to get your new clubs and instead of waiting to use them you get to test their meddle the real way on the greens? This award-winning spot has all kinds of golf related merchandise including both new and used clubs, bags, balls, apparel, and more. They provide regripping, reshafting, loft and lie adjustments, extensions and cuts for shafts, custom wedge grinding, custom paint and fill as well. Fairway Custom Golf is open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 4:00pm, and is closed on Sunday.

We’re in a rare sight for this one because not only do we have another golf shop located within a course, but we have a golf shop located in a par 3 - 18 hole course, a miniature golf course, and a driving range! Bunker Run Pro Shop is situated in Orchard Golf Center in Greenwood and has been around since the 60’s, which is quite the achievement.

The shop itself offers your classic golf inventory like new and used clubs, shoes, hats, and other apparel; as well as services like fittings, re-shafts, shortenings, lengthenings of steel and graphite shafts, checks & adjustments of loft and lie(s), regrips, and repairs. Bunker Run Pro Shop is open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm, and is closed on Sunday.

Seasoned golfers will know the name Golf Galaxy as it is one of few major golf retailers in the country that has locations all over the country including this one at the Castleton Square Pavilion next to Castleton Square. Golf Galaxy has a little bit of everything for your game whether it’s your first time golfing or it’s your hundredth. 

They have a wide selection of new golf clubs, a Pre-Owned Golf Program, golf apparel, shoes, balls, bags, tech, and more. They also offer Fitting Sessions with their team, Lesson Packages, Full-Service Club Repairs, and Simulator Rentals where you can practice your swings on various courses. Now like every chain there’s bound to be lesser-liked stores out there and the average ratings for this Golf Galaxy aren’t the best, so you’ll have to be your own judge on this one. Golf Galaxy is open Monday through Friday 9:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 7:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am to 6:00pm.

The entire staff couldn’t be more accommodating every time I walk in; place has a fun vibe for me. The managers are great and have been there a long time as well so they know how to take care of the us customers. The store has various fitters who are really sharp when it comes to fittings and have helped many of my friends locally. Also, Joe is the best club builder in town.”
