We love celebrating small businesses here at StickHawk but what we love even more is celebrating small business needs, most if not all locals in the know will recommend Rex’s. With a team that’s both knowledgeable and kind, you’ll be in good hands here whether it’s your first time trying out the sport or you’re a seasoned pro.

They also offer quite a number of services besides their retail shop which carries both new and used clubs, apparel with their own T-Rex logo, accessories, golf equipment, and Tour-Issued clubs. Get your own clubs repaired, regripped, or trade/sell them to maybe get something better or atleast some money towards clubs in the future when you’re ready to buy. And if you’re only in the city for a little bit you can rent with them too. 

Located just south of Castaway Island Preserve, you’ll find the Rex Golf Shop is open Monday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Edwin Watts comes from Worldwide Golf which is one of the biggest businesses in golf retail as they have their own franchise(s) in multiple states in the South and Southeast parts of the country. There are a few located in the Jacksonville area but we are talking about the one near Southside and Avenues. 

At this specific Edwin Watts Golf store you’ll be able to utilize their Full Service Club Repair, Indoor Putting Green, Golf Simulators, Launch Monitor Club Fitting Technology, Golf Rentals and find equipment on the floor from new and used clubs to apparel and technology to help improve your game. They are open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 11:00am to 5:00pm.

Play It Again Sports is a well known venue for all things second-hand and used sporting equipment; it is a part of the resale franchise that has the likes of Plato’s Closet, Once Upon a Child, Style Encore, and Music Go Around. You’ll be able to find a mish-mash of products here including your fair share of golf clubs, bags, balls, and other accessories. 

Each Play It Again Sports location is individually owned and operated so if you don’t have the best experience at one store, you might have a better one at another. This one is a “Gold Standard Store” which is an award given to certain locations for “going above and beyond the normal standard,” so it might just be more than worth the look if you know you’re walking into good service.

And if you’re looking to trade-in or sell, they accept sporting equipment at any time of the day so maybe you can go in and get rid of the stuff you no longer need for “newer” and better golf products. Play It Again Sports in Jacksonville at the Merrill Station Shopping Center is open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 12:00pm to 5:00pm.
