If they are out of what you are looking for they will order in and usually have it in a week or less. Everyone is knowledgeable and more than capable of steering you in the right direction. I can not stress enough how important this store is for golfers. PLEASE buy local if you can instead of supporting any of the corporate stores around!”

Went elsewhere to buy a driver.”

Next up we have Golf Galaxy, which is another golf-chain that golfers may know well or at least have heard of before. You can come in and see their inventory which consists of golf clubs, apparel, tech, accessories, and more.

They also offer a myriad of services including but not limited to the TrackMan, Golf Lessons, Custom Club Fittings, Full-Service Club Repair, Simulator Rental(s), the Trade-In Program, and the Pre-Owned Club Program where you can find your used golf clubs.

Not a huge variety of reviews for this store, but it seems to be just right on average so you’ll have to come check it out for yourself at the Saint Matthews Gateway. This Golf Galaxy is open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 7:00pm, and 10:00am to 5:00pm on Sunday.

The guys at the back register one named Nick and the other one running the simulators are absolutely horrible and had the worst customer service i have seen/ experienced. We asked for a bay after spending 600 plus dollars and they said nothing was available until after 4 pm (2 hours later) and then immediately gave someone who just walked in a 10 minute wait. The only reason we decided to purchase a few things was the Assistant Manager at the front register named Lee he is the only employee in the whole store that is even worth talking too/ working with.”

If you’re at all familiar with the names Plato’s Closet, Once Upon a Child, and/or Music Go Around, then you might know that Play It Again Sports is also a part of that same franchise, but instead of selling clothing items and musical instruments- they sell all things sports. Located in St. Matthews in Louisville East, this Play It Again Sports is pretty big and that means there’s a good chance you might find some used golf clubs that meet your standards. 

They take trade-ins and sales all throughout their service hours so you can save a few bucks to buy a new used set there with store credit or leave with some cash to shop online. They are open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm, Saturdays 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Sundays 12:00am to 6:00pm.

Now we will say that the reviews have been less-than average for this store. There's another store, in Kentucky, with much better reviews, but it’s all the way out in Florence. So do some research and maybe take a drive if you’re looking for a Gold Standard Store.

We don’t typically shout-out a lot of golf club rental places with our guides because the goal has always been to find places that sell and deal with used golf clubs specifically. But since there aren't a whole lot of options for stores in the Louisville area we thought why not shout out this small business that allows out-of-towners the chance to rent good quality used clubs for their time out visiting the city’s courses. 

Clublender is located in Jeffersontown right down the street from Papa Johns Park Waterfall and offers the easiest ways to rent golf clubs in the city. All you have to do is select your dates and location, select your gear, and checkout. They don’t just ship to surrounding towns, you can order from Clublener from anywhere in the country and they’ll get clubs to you ASAP. Typical support hours are Monday through Friday 9:00am to 7:00pm ET.
