The two biggest things Akers Discount Golf boasts about the most is their service and huge stocklist. They’re not just a used golf clubs store, no, they have everything one could need for the game. From balls and bags, to shoes, hats, shafts, putter grips, and more, you’ll be leaving with a trunk full of stuff when you leave Akers.
Located just off Ocean Hwy towards the end Murrells Inlet near Moss Creek you’ll find this golf shop. They have a ton of brand-named equipment so if you tend to fancy one over the other there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find what you need. Plus if you’re only in town for a few days you can choose to rent instead of buy if you end up needing another driver while you're here. Akers Discount Golf also has repair services along with Trackman club fittings. And what’s cool about this independently owned golf shop is they also sell their products on Etsy as well as in-store.
Akers Discount Golf is open 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday through Saturday and 12:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Sean C. of Akers Discount Golf: “In town this past weekend for golf with friends and rented clubs (both mens & womens) from Akers Discount Golf. We were extremely pleased with both the rental rate and the quality of the clubs. This years model of clubs (Taylormade and Callaway) and in great shape. Nicest rental clubs I've ever used! Their golf shop is loaded with good deals as well. Would definitely recommend checking out Akers Discount Golf.” |
⭐⭐ Google Review from James F. of Akers Discount Golf: “Not a big fan of this store. Could not get any help when I went in to buy a driver. Guys were more concerned with the music not working. Asked a guy about a club he got an asset gander it to me and walked away. Ended up buying on Amazon.” |

Since the 80s the Old Golf Store in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina has been a family-owned and operated establishment selling a huge stock of used golf clubs. They have rows and rows of different golf clubs available which is great for anyone who’s looking for a specific type of club and needs to have lots of options.
Along with their clubs you can find golf balls at daily decent price points- (currently advertising for $2.95 for one dozen). Golfers will fall in love with their “wall of irons” where you can glance all the way up to the ceiling back down to the floor and find golf clubs for sale. The Old Golf Store is open Monday through Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm and is closed on Sundays.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Daniel S. of the Old Golf Shop: “What an awesome store with GREAT prices on used clubs. I'm new to golf and the owner was so friendly and helpful. He even cut me a deal on the already low prices for name brand clubs. He gave me advice and really was a pleasure to chat with. Highly recommend for anyone who's just getting into golf and might be intimidated with the razzle dazzle and pretentious employees at other stores. I'll come back for any all my golf needs." |
⭐⭐Google Review from Ian C. of the Old Golf Shop: “Any deals on their inventory comes from the fact they pay nothing; this is essentially a Goodwill for clubs. I bought $50 worth of junior clubs, a variety of clubs which saw light use 3 or 4 times, and when I sold them back, they gave me $5. To confirm - not $5 a club. Five dollars, total. Wonderful markup for them, my goodness. But next time, I'll just donate them somewhere else. Oh, and when I was naturally surprised at their ridiculously low offer, they chose to argue that I hadn't actually paid $50. Whatever.” |
Surprisingly even though Myrtle Beach is known as the “Golf Capital of the World” there aren’t many brick and mortar golf shops up and running in the area. Akers Discount Golf and the Old Golf Shop are the only two independently owned stores in the city according to our research, but don’t worry if you can’t find what you need at those two places there are a more chain golf stores that offer up used clubs- (although their selection is nowhere near the level you’d find at the other two places):
PGA TOUR Superstore(s)
There are two PGA Superstores in Myrtle Beach selling both new and used golf clubs, the first one is right across the street from the Legends in Concert Theater Myrtle Beach

PGA TOUR, the nonprofit organization that is the big brains behind professional golf tours in North America. The official description on the website of what they do is:
“The PGA TOUR co-sanctions tournaments on the PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, Korn Ferry Tour and PGA TOUR Americas, and administers PGA TOUR Q-School presented by Korn Ferry and PGA TOUR University.”
And because of their monumental reach in the golfing world, it only makes sense that they have their own chain of golf stores throughout the country as well. They are called PGA TOUR Superstores and there are two in the Myrtle Beach area. The first one we are looking at is right off of 29th Avenue and it has both new and used golf clubs, bags, hats, shoes, accessories, and tech.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from TOMMYBEETS of the PGA TOUR Superstore: “Rob and Nicolai are the best. Patient, knowledgeable, friendly, everything you would want in an employee and person. They spent a good amount of time problem solving with me on my swing speed and the shaft options I had that would best suit my needs of hitting the ball straighter. I’m so excited to play better golf and I have you guys to thank for taking time out of your busy day to help me. Y'all deserve a raise!” |
⭐ Google Review from Micahel D. of the PGA TOUR Superstore: “I had a pretty bad experience with the older guy who was at the swing practice bays. I was looking to buy a new driver and was hoping to get some help/advice since I’ve only ever had used clubs. I asked if I could test the club I wanted, and the guy said “I’ll give you 5 swings” which I would understand if it was busy but there was literally nobody there. He was a real dick while I was swinging, saying “You know the tee is not supposed to be that low right?” and that I needed lessons. After I was done swinging and trying to ask him questions, he really wasn’t helpful at all and made me not want to buy clubs. After that I went to Golf Galaxy and they were so friendly and helpful, let me swing as many times as I wanted and switched out the shaft to try and get the right one for me. So I would probably never go back to this PGA store after that experience.” |
The second PGA TOUR Superstore is in North Myrtle Beach and is right next to Azalea Sands Golf Club

What you’ll find at one PGA TOUR Superstore, equipment, accessories, lessons, STUDIO fittings, practice bays, clinics, and store events like “Free Golf Pride Grip Installation(s)” and “Free Putter Fittings” you’ll most likely find at the other PGA TOUR Superstore. This is the second Myrtle Beach location, this store is located further North and can be found directly next to Azalea Sands Golf Club if you are familiar. This location seems to have slightly better reviews than the other as well.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google Review from Chuck W. of the PGA TOUR Superstore in North Myrtle Beach: “I’m retired and live in North Myrtle Beach. I play golf 2-3 times a week and part time at Azalea Sands. I go to the PGA Superstore North Myrtle Beach location for all my golfing needs. The people at this location are truly EXCEPTIONAL!!! Dana is an absolute delight and does a masterful job regripping clubs and etc. Today I saw Matt and he spent a few minutes and made sure my new driver was fitted properly — Matt was genuine and very eager to address my questions. Thus, he assured I had the tools necessary to play our fickle game. Bottom Line: PGA Superstore NMB is the place to go for ALL your golfing needs!!!” |
⭐ Google Review from Wendy T. of the PGA TOUR Superstore in North Myrtle Beach: “Went to North Myrtle Beach to purchase a range finder. Apparently the cashier is the person responsible for technology questions and purchase. Obviously, the cashier was nonstop busy. I asked if anyone else could help- I was told no one else could. I asked if any other employees had any range finder info, I was told no. Then the cashier asked the guy regrouping clubs if he could assist me - and he was most hateful. Said he was busy also but would help me if I insisted. I decided PGA Superstore didn’t need my business.” |
For a town so gold-heavy it’s interesting that there aren’t too many places to get used golf clubs in Myrtle Beach, but online star sellers like StickHawk has you covered if you’re in need for a bigger selection.
