And Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club is semi-private with limited tee times but is definitely worth the look as it is quite beautiful with long green complexes.

Strictly Used Golf in the Lakeview neighborhood is a mom and pop golf shop that buys, sells, and trades both new and used golf clubs and equipment. They are constantly on the lookout for new clubs so if you’re in the market to trade then this place might be worth the drive. 

You can take a look at their racks of clubs, test the feel of them in your hands, and ask the team any questions you might have on your visit. Strictly Used Golf advertises having “premium clubs for all skill level golfers,” which is great because sometimes it can be a bit intimidating to be a new golfer going into a shop for the first time. They just recently changed their hours so they are now open Monday through Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm. Reviews vary on this shop so read below and look further into the shop before you go.

If you thought 2nd Time Sports had a big inventory, get ready to see Denver’s oldest sporting-goods consignment shop: Sports Plus. Denver, Colorado doesn’t do anything in half-measures and that goes the same for its sporting goods stores because we have another shop that’s not just selling new and used golf clubs but also a myriad of other products as well. At Sports Plus you can get stuff for: 

• Skiing, Snowboarding, Ice Hockey, Darts, Biking, Pickleball, Volleyball, Inline Skating, Outdoors Tennis, Yard Games, Figure Skating, Longboarding, Soccer  Lacrosse, Baseball, Softball, and of course: Golf. 

For golf they have women and men’s left and right hand, junior left and right hand, golf bags, and other accessories. They do rentals and repair services as well so you can get multiple things done all at once at Sports Plus.

Many golfers will know the name Golf Galaxy, which is a chain brand of golf retailers with locations all over the country including one in Oklahoma City right next to Quail Springs Mall. On the floor you can expect to see a wide selection of new golf clubs, a smaller display of pre-owned clubs, apparel, shoes, balls, bags, technology devices to help improve your game, and more. 

Golf Galaxy also has a list of services including Fitting Sessions with their team, Lesson Packages, Full-Service Club Repairs, and Simulator Rentals where you can practice your swings on various courses. But like most chains, there’s going to be some hits and misses service-wise so be on the lookout for that should you decide to go see what they have in stock. This Golf Galaxy location is open Monday through Friday 9:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 7:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am to 6:00pm.

I had rented a simulator for 1 hour with $50 of my hard earned money for data analysis trying to improve my game. 2 employees fitting clubs for another customer half way across the store kept coming into the back of the booth I had rented changing shafts, club heads and other things. They were making absolutely no attempt to be quite and not disturb my train of thought. I eventually asked them if they were about done and got a whole lot of attitude from them. I understand they have a job to do and I understand I'm never going to qualify for the tour but that's not the point. Have some respect for a paying customer and use your inside voice and try to not bother them.”

PGA TOUR Superstores are one of the biggest chain brands of golf retailers in the country, along with Golf Galaxy they have a mix of everything and anything that’s related to the game. They have a bigger selection of new clubs and a few certified pre-owned clubs as well; but they definitely favor newer items over used. 

They also sell golf bags, shoes, gloves, balls, accessories, and tech. PGA TOUR Superstores offer select services like lessons, STUDIO fittings, practice bays, and clinics, along with hosting events like “The Hammer Challenge.” This location is actually right across the way from Golf Galaxy near Quail Springs Mall and is open Monday through Saturday 9:00am to 8:00pm and Sunday 10:00am to 6:00pm. Their reviews are definitely lower than average so be on the lookout again for this store.
