When we’re highlighting cities all over the country we like to first look for small businesses that sell golfing equipment first over commercialized places and we’re lucky to find one such place like that in Palm Desert near the The Golf Center at Palm Desert Driving Range called Golf Alley. If you’re new to the area then there’s a good chance this is your first time visiting so let’s go over what they do.

Golf Alley has “one of the widest selections of pre-owned golf equipment in the Western States,” with over 4,000 square feet of space you’ll be able to lose yourself looking through every club, bag, and ball they have. They also have repair and rental services available so you can use them if you’re only in town for a weekend. Golf Alley is open Monday through Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday 9:00am to 1:00pm.

If you’re only visiting California to get some good rounds in then you might not know the name Roger Dunn as well as those who live here because it’s a California staple. From Worldwide Golf, Roger Dunn Golf Shops are a mini-franchise with 14 locations in the Golden State. Here we have their store that’s closest to Palm Springs in Indio right down the street from Indian Palms Country Club & Resort.

This Roger Dunn has a wide array of clubs, shoes, apparel, and bags, along with a Full Service Club Repair, an Indoor Putting Green, and Golf Simulators, and Rentals. It’s a pretty well-rounded golf shop which makes for a great visit. This location is open Monday through Friday 9:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm.

We’re next taking a look at another Palm Desert treasure, this time located in President’s Plaza West which is just up the street from Shadow Mountain Golf Course and it is Pete Carlson’s Golf & Tennis Shop. If you’re a fan of golf, which you probably are considering you’re here, tennis, and/or pickleball then this is the place to be as they have quite the array of equipment in their store for your pursuit.

Their golfing department specifically has new golf clubs, bags, balls, apparel, accessories, and more. They do have a smaller selection of used golf clubs and clubs available to rent out for your time on the greens should you just be visiting. We recommended calling ahead of time to see what they have before committing to the drive, especially if you are just interested in buying used. Pete Carlson’s Golf & Tennis Shop is open Monday through Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm and Sunday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
