We’re starting out with, arguably, San Antonio’s most popular golf shop: Edwin Watt Golf which is right off the Connally Loop not too far away from The Quarry Golf Course. You yourself may recognize the name Edwin Watts and that’s because it’s a franchise from Worldwide Golf which is one of the biggest businesses in golf retail. There are many Southeast and Southern states that have their own Edwin Watts with San Antonio being one of them. 

At this Edwin Watts Golf store, which has been around since 1968, you’ll be able to utilize their Full Service Club Repair, Indoor Putting Green, Golf Simulators, and equipment on the floor including a selection of new and used clubs, apparel, bags, balls, accessories, and technology to help your game. They are open Monday through Friday 9:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 11:00am to 5:00pm.

Now we’re headed off to our second location which is another famous retailer but not from the same franchise. Instead we are looking at Play It Again Sports which is friends with other businesses like Plato’s Closet, Once Upon a Child, Style Encore, and Music Go Around. These are all resale shops that have made a name for themselves selling second-hand clothes, musical instruments, and of course, sporting equipment. Play It Again Sports San Antonio North is located in between Sunset Hills Park and Blossom Park near highway 281.

It has a pretty splendid golf selection with quality used clubs, bags, balls, and more. Plus if you have any old golf equipment- (or other sports equipment for that matter) you can bring it in to sell and get paid then and there or use it to trade with stuff in-store with no appointment necessary. Play It Again Sports San Antonio North is open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 8:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 12:00am to 5:00pm.

Three open bays and they wouldn't let me use the simulators to test used drivers. Apparently the simulators are only for new clubs and fittings. They directed me to go back to the nets. Left immediately, went to PGA superstore across the street where they let me test multiple drivers in a no pressure environment... Also PGA superstore had the same clubs for cheaper and had more options. Used to love golf galaxy for the laid back approach and good prices. However, the store across the street now beats them out in both categories.”

It’s not often we get a treat like the Mac Wylie Golf Center because instead of just a shop where you can go in and get serviced and look for golf clubs, we actually have a driving range as well so you can immediately go out to test your new golf clubs properly just a few steps away from where you’ve bought them. The Mac Wylie Golf Center has their very own driving range and pro-shop where they sell golf clubs both new and used as well as apparel, accessories, and other products all from your favorite brands.

And if you can’t find anything in-store, don’t worry because they have their own eBay shop showcasing even more of their used club options. You’ll find the Mac Wylie Golf Center located near/in Schnabel Park next to Alamo Cricket Ground. They are open daily at 9:00am, Monday through Saturday the driving range closes at 8:00pm and at 6:00pm on Sunday.
