Callaway X-14 Single Irons

The X-14 iron was released in 2000, and while these are some really old clubs, it's not as significant as you may think for these particular irons. The X-14 were some of the best irons made, they employ a technology Callaway calls Variable Face Thickness (VFT). The VFT means the face is thicker in some areas and thinner in others depending on the iron. The technology promotes less spin off long irons for more distance and straighter shots and the short irons get more spin which promotes more control. The technology was so good, it's still found in many irons produced today. A used x-14 iron set are the kind of clubs that are great for players that are new to the sport; they are relatively inexpensive, they are easy to hit, they have the clean lines of a classic golf club, and when you decide to switch to a newer set, the feeling of hitting them won't be a drastic change because the technology in the face is the same.
