About the Titleist DCI 981 Iron Set
The Titleist DCI 981 Iron Set is the same model that Ben Curtis used to win the 2003 British Open. With credentials like that it's hard to find fault in these clubs. That being said, while these clubs are viable for anyone to use and score well with, there have been improvements on modern clubs to improve MOI and distance. However, they do feature "Cavity Back Design" technology. It incorporates a deep cavity in the back of the clubhead, which allows for the redistribution of weight around the perimeter. The Cavity Back Design helps to lower the center of gravity (CG) and increase the moment of inertia (MOI), enhancing stability and forgiveness on off-center hits. It promotes higher launch angles and more consistent ball flight, providing better control and accuracy. The redistribution of weight to the perimeter of the clubhead ensures that the DCI 981 Iron Set offers improved distance control and reliable performance from anywhere on the course, making it easier for golfers to achieve consistent, accurate shots.
