Finding small businesses that share the love of all things golf is what we love to see, especially when these types of stores are so scarce nowadays. When searching for places selling used golf clubs in Fort Lauderdale, we found Golf Trader, a potentially hidden gem in the Tamarac area at the Mcnab Plaza right across the street from Colony West Golf Club simply called Golf Trader.

Golf Trader is exactly how it sounds, it is indeed a place you can go to to trade your used clubs for some newer used clubs or buy new. They’ve got quite the selection of clubs for you to pursue as well as an indoor simulator and testing areas to try your swing. Along with clubs you can find bags, balls, and accessories. Golf Trader is open Tuesday through Friday 9:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday 9:00am to 5:00pm, and is closed Sunday and Monday.

We’re next going to a favorite amongst the golfing community, a business that’s been a big seller in many many Southeast and Southern states: Edwin Watts Golf. Edwin Watts is a part of Worldwide Golf which is one of the biggest businesses in golf retail. They have three other stores in the area, one in Boca Raton, North Miami Beach, and Doral. This location however is in Pompano Beach not too far away from Pompano Beach Pier and Pompano Community Park. 

At Edwin Watts you’ll be able to utilize their Full Service Club Repair, Indoor Putting Green, Golf Simulators, Golf Club Rentals and equipment on the floor including a selection of new and used clubs, apparel, bags, balls, accessories, and technology to help your game. They are open Monday through Friday 10:00am to 7:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 6:00pm, and Sunday 10:00am to 5:00pm.

Not to be confused with one of our frequent flyer businesses: Play It Again Sports, Play or Trade Sport is its own independent local business central to the Coral Springs area right across the street from Country Club of Coral Springs. However there are a few similarities between the two as Play It Again Sports seeks to sell not just golfing equipment but all sporting equipment, so does Play or Trade Sport.

Come in and marvel at how stacked their inventory is including a wide selection of used golf clubs and bags at your disposal. Reviews are a little below average on this one so be aware before you go and keep your head up. Play or Trade Sport is open Tuesday through Friday 11:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday 11:00am to 5:00pm, and is closed on Sunday and Monday.

The clubs are mostly beat up and the iron sets were (to me) overpriced for the quality, but I found a nice used baseball bat for only $10. They seem to have a better selection of baseball gloves, football pads, and hockey skates if that's what you're looking for. Also lots and lots of used golf balls. If you're just starting to golf and just want any old irons or need a one-off, then they have a large selection that are great for beginners. Not really any full sets for men, but a few ladies sets in nice condition. They're worth checking out if you're looking for used sporting equipment.”

Back then the owners were so good and still had the franchising rights. The prices are so bad now you might as well buy new elsewhere or find used gear online that is actually priced properly.”

Blakes Golf Shop located in Boynton Beach right across the street from Barrier Free Park is a small business that does just about everything and is well worth the visit.

They have built quite the reputation not just in town but on eBay as well. They have a huge inventory of pre-owned and new clubs, offer club repairs, lessons, and have a hitting bay with world-class simulator(s).

Go online or in-store to see what they have so you can hopefully get the club you’ve been searching for. Blakes Golf Shop is open Tuesday through Friday 10:00am to 5:00pm, Saturday 10:00am to 4:00pm, and is closed on Sunday and Monday.

There are a couple of hidden gems in the Fort Lauderdale area for finding used golf clubs, but if you aren’t having any luck out in the greens then we definitely recommend looking online at places like StickHawk for your needs.
