When golfers hear the name “Scotty Cameron” they will do have one of two responses:

  1. “Agh they’re overrated, just like any other putter on the market!”
  2. “They are the choice for putters, no doubt about it. Nothing else even comes close!”

Just like with most sports, and most-definitely golf, everyone’s going to have an opinion on the equipment they’re using. At the end of the day, it’s all about blocking out the noise and getting the clubs, and in this case putter(s), that’s right for your swing.

Scotty Cameron putters are famous for many things, lots of pros use them in tournaments, heck there’s an entire page of Tour Victories on the Scotty Cameron website dedicated to showing the general public how many wins their putters were used for- (and spoiler: it’s a lot of ‘em). Putters, like Scotty Cameron the brand, have a lot of opinions surrounding them. Some say it doesn’t matter what kind you hit with, others will have their baby and never stray. Ultimately, like most things regarding the golfing community, it’s going to be up to your preference, which means trying to decide which direction to go can be tricky.

The bottom line is although expensive, Scotty Cameron putters are made very well, the quality of these clubs are something that can’t be disparaged and even those who fall into column “A” will agree, they are built to last which makes shopping for used ones feel like a nice warm security blanket.

Today we’re taking a look at the best Scotty Cameron putters to buy on the used market so you can feel that satisfaction of getting the ball in the hole with some of the greatest to have ever done it.

But why are we the ones qualified to answer your club questions? Well if you haven’t heard of us yet then let us have the pleasure of introducing you to what we do best:

Our story is a simple one, what started out as a side-venture in the highs and lows of selling shoes on eBay, has now turned around to be a business with 20 full-time employees, a 15,000 square foot warehouse, and relationships with private golf courses all over the U.S. At StickHawk you can make your putting dreams come true as we sell quality drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, iron sets, single irons, wedges, putters, complete club sets for those who need the basics to play today, and accessories. We want to match you with the golf club(s) of your dreams. You can take our “Club Decider Quiz” and it will help you decide the exact right make and models you need to feel good while you’re on the course.

We really care that you’re getting the right golf clubs, we don’t just sell to sell. We mentioned our “Find the right clubs” quiz- (which will either be as a “pop up” as you go onto our homepage or you will see it once you scroll down to the bottom of the screen and you’ll know you’re in the right place when you see our Hawk mascot holding gold clubs like a real player). The team has spent hours coming up with and designing the right questions to find you the golf clubs that’ll fit you at your skill level, and that includes finding the best used Scotty Cameron putters.

In no particular order we have the:

?️Scotty Cameron Select Laguna

A hidden gem amongst Scotty Cameron putter fans is their Laguna line which hasn't been made since 2018. The big underlying reason for that is because the company has put their efforts behind Newports, another great line of putters that are famous for being the ones Tiger Woods wins with. But there’s something special about the Laguna’s that make it a cult classic. People like the feel and stability of the Laduna’s which have extra mass on the toe and heel. They are harder to come by but luckily we have a few in stock including this one:

Scotty Cameron Select Laguna

A better alternative to Newports? You’ll just have to try and see for yourself!

?️Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2.5

And now that we’ve dug for our buried treasure and have found the underrated gem Laguna, we have to get to the “shiny diamond” of the pile: the Select Newport 2.5. Go on almost any Reddit thread and this bad boy will be one of the top recommendations when looking for any kind of putter, not just Scotty Cameron. Offering a bit more forgiveness and built for “an arc style stroke” you’ll be more than happy with this pick:

A beloved putter that has many fans still using them prominently in their bag(s).

?️Scotty Cameron Studio Select Newport 2

Yes we’re going a bit backwards here, or at least .5% back as we are now talking about the Newport's 2.5 predecessor: the Newport 2. For straight back and straight through shots, the Newport 2 is a famous name amongst Scotty Cameron fans.

Bringing it back to Tiger really quickly, he uses a variation of the putter called the Newport 2 GSS, although that’s not commercially available, many have taken a liking to the line anyway. More face-balanced than the 2.5, this one works for less “arcing” shots. The “studio select” line has a softer feel and feels incredible to hit with.

Best for those confident in their skills, wherever you aim, and however hard you hit, that’s where the ball will go with this putter. It won’t trick your eye-line into thinking you’ve aimed way off. This is great for those who have some time on the greens.

?️Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5

The “Phantom X” line is another selection of Scotty Cameron putters that we think doesn’t get talked about enough in forums and on the fairways. Trying to decide which iteration you go for is up for some debate as some people like the feel of the 7 and its ability to pick up the ball, but we tend to side with the 5.5 which wins in its simplified yet dignified design. It is compact andthe bend is lower, creating about 30 degrees of toe hang,” which aids well to our arc-strokers.

Scotty Cameron Phantom X 5.5

A cool design and a mean swing aids this putter to the “best of” list.

?️Scotty Cameron Studio Stainless Newport 2.5

You’ve probably searched through a lot of “best scotty cameron putters” articles and threads online already so seeing the name: Studio Stainless NP shouldn’t be too much of a surprise. Although hard to find, these things have been named by pros and amateurs alike for being “the” greatest of the Scotty Cameron line. Studio Stainless will leave you feeling like you’re playing in your own tournament with how much control you have over the ball.

?️Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #1

And finally we’re ending with an old school pick that still holds up well in any golfing circle you could find: the Circa 62, specifically #1, but we do enjoy the others in this line. The Circa 62 #1 just hits different, pardon our pun, it is the optimal weight and feels like you’re back in class balancing a pencil from the middle on one finger with how well it all comes together. It’s a softer sound and feel than you might be unaware of but it holds up quite well against the “latest and greatest.”

Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #1

An oldie doesn’t mean it’s bad, in fact it can mean it’s even better than what’s out today!

Scotty Cameron putters come with quite the price-point, and we’d advise anyone looking to join the club of the “elite” to go to a local golf store and test out hitting with the model(s) you’ve been eyeing before committing. We want you to have a good game of golf and though any of these Scotty Cameron putters can give you that, it’s more important that you find one that feels good and doesn’t break your bank.
